Networking too! Today I started my day with a breakfast meeting with representatives from different student unions from Stockholm and Uppsala cities. We were six unions all in all and we sat talking about what we are all doing  or done or going to be doing during this academic year.

Meeting people from different cities and universities is one of the things that I love best about this job. You get such a wealth of knowledge and understanding of how things work all over the country and it makes it so much easier to know that there are other people working with the same or similar things all over.

One of the most imposing questions right is of course the elimination of the student obligation to pay for their student union. Now that is an issue that has been discussed in length and will keep being discussed throughout our year (probably even for several years to come). I guess we just have to hope that somewhere along the line we will succeed with coming up with solutions to the problems that this has caused, and maybe even see it as a positive thing..who knows? As they say in the movies: this is the end of an era!
