Rights

As a student at Uppsala University you have rights as well as obligations. Uppsala Student Union gives you answers to some common questions about students rights. Many rules are the same for all students and all student cities in Sweden. Other rules are decided by each institution of higher education and are only valid there. There is a catalogue of rights by SACO Student Council in Swedish which brings up more general rules about economy, work environment, discrimination etc. Rules that are specific for Uppsala University can be found in the document “Student Working Conditions”. There you can read about work environment, discrimination, rules concerning schedule, course literature and examination.

The Student Ombudsman helps students with practical questions and problems concerning education or the study environment. The Student Ombudsman gives advice to students on how to solve problems that have occurred with for example teachers, advisors or departments.
